About Us
About Fine Finishes Custom Painting
A Charlotte painting company since 2011, led by its owner on every job. Fine Finishes Custom Painting works out of Charlotte, NC.
Our Story
Built on Trust and Attention to Detail
Zachary Bowen founded Fine Finishes Custom Painting to deliver premium-quality painting built on trust, integrity and attention to detail. The company started in April 2011 and became Fine Finishes Custom Painting, LLC in 2018.
He is a Charlotte native and personally oversees each job. Customers notice: one reviewer wrote that the person you meet during quoting is the person leading the work when the job comes.
More about our story
The crew carries that through. Reviewers name crew members who led their jobs and describe tidy, efficient work and careful cleanup.
Away from work you will find the owner with his family, playing the drums or out exploring the Carolinas.
The work covers the inside and outside of a house and the businesses around it: interior and exterior painting, cabinet painting and staining, drywall and ceiling repair including popcorn ceiling and wallpaper removal, decorative finishes and color consultation, and commercial painting for offices and retail spaces. We use Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore paints.
One of our jobs is open to the public. For the Mint Hill Historical Society, our crew repaired and painted or stained the museum buildings at the Carl J. McEwen Village, including the Doctor's Museum, the Country Store, the Assay Office and the Schoolhouse Museums. We put together a short video about the project on our YouTube channel.
Every estimate is free and carries no obligation, and we publish a residential price guide so you can see the ranges before we visit. Financing is available; ask about it when you call (980) 291-7510.

Great experience having our cabinets and kitchen painted by Fine Finishes. Zachary, the owner, was quick to respond and excellent to communicate with. Our team, led by Mario, was efficient, neat, and did a wonderful job. Very happy with the way our kitchen turned out and would highly recommend Fine Finishes Custom painting!
We had a great experience with Zach and his team. Their pricing was more than fair and delivered on the quality of work. They did a creative paint design in our master bedroom and came out perfect. We will be using them again for more rooms in our house.
Wow, I’m so impressed with this painting group! I’ve had negative experiences in the past with other hired painters cutting corners, upcharging & delaying projects. This experience was not like that at all. It was a 10/10 experience. The customer service is professional, prompt & personable. I am impressed by how much attention to detail was shown on the job, leaving my walls & cabinets looking pristine. I’ll definitely be using this group time and time again!
