Local Expertise

Serving the Ballantyne Community

  • Homes from a planned build-out

Ballantyne was a large hunting tract until 1992, when the corporate park started and the 2,000 acres were rezoned, the largest rezoning in Mecklenburg County history. The country club and its residential development grew up on 610 acres beside it. If your house still wears the paint it was built with, expect walls in a flat builder finish that marks easily and will not wipe clean. When we repaint, we talk through sheen room by room so hallways and kitchens get a finish you can wash.

  • Offices and mixed-use buildings

Ballantyne Corporate Park covers 535 acres with more than 4,000,000 square feet of Class A office space, and newer towers mix offices, hotel rooms, apartments and retail. Commercial painting is one of our services, and we plan the work so the business keeps running with as little disruption as we can manage. We walk the space at the estimate and note the high-traffic areas.

Common Painting Challenges in Ballantyne, NC

Ballantyne mixes single-family homes, townhomes, apartment towers and offices, and it was built in planned phases rather than all at once. These are the five things we would check first in this part of Charlotte.

  • Original builder paint. Ballantyne was a hunting tract before its planned development began in 1992. Paint that has never been redone tends to chalk outside and scuff inside, first where weather and people hit hardest.
  • Shrunken caulk at trim. Charlotte summers are hot and humid and winters bring freezing nights, and caulk dries and pulls away from trim under that cycle. The gaps let water behind casings and siding, so we check every window and door at the estimate.
  • Attached homes that must match. Plans at The Bowl at Ballantyne include apartments and, in a second phase, 300 townhomes. On attached homes the outside colour and sheen may need to match the rest of the row, so we confirm the spec with you before any paint is bought.
  • Worn office interiors. With millions of square feet of office space in the corporate park, Ballantyne has a lot of corridors, break rooms and lobbies taking daily wear. Scuffed walls and dinged door frames can be repainted in sections so the office keeps working.
  • Mixed surfaces in one building. Ballantyne Village and the newer towers put retail, office and residential space under one roof. That means drywall, metal doors, wood trim and masonry on the same job, and each needs its own primer and paint.

If your Ballantyne home or office is due for paint, start with a free estimate and we will tell you plainly what it needs.

About the Area

All About Ballantyne, NC

Ballantyne is a neighborhood and developing edge city on the south side of Charlotte, about 2,000 acres in Mecklenburg County running up to the South Carolina border. It belongs to the city, though residents met in 2012 to talk about breaking away and forming a city of their own.

The land was a hunting tract owned by the Harris family. In 1992 Johnny Harris and his brother-in-law Smoky Bissell started Ballantyne Corporate Park, and 610 acres that Crescent Resources had bought became the country club and its residential development. For a painter, that means the houses here came out of a planned build-out, and a house that has kept its original paint is worth a close look.

The neighborhood counted 20,936 people in 2011 and about 27,342 in 2020. From 2017 on, the corporate park has been reworked into a denser, walkable district, starting with a 16-story apartment tower announced in 2019, with plans for more apartments, townhomes and retail. More attached and mixed-use buildings mean more jobs where we work around neighbours, shared walls and building rules.

We had a great experience with Zach and his team. Their pricing was more than fair and delivered on the quality of work. They did a creative paint design in our master bedroom and came out perfect. We will be using them again for more rooms in our house.
Aaron Comfort · Google review
Wow, I’m so impressed with this painting group! I’ve had negative experiences in the past with other hired painters cutting corners, upcharging & delaying projects. This experience was not like that at all. It was a 10/10 experience. The customer service is professional, prompt & personable. I am impressed by how much attention to detail was shown on the job, leaving my walls & cabinets looking pristine. I’ll definitely be using this group time and time again!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions: Painting in Ballantyne, NC

Is Ballantyne in Charlotte or its own town?

Ballantyne is a neighborhood of Charlotte in Mecklenburg County, on the south side of the city along the South Carolina border. Residents discussed forming their own city in 2012, but it is part of Charlotte.

How much does it cost to paint a room in Ballantyne?

Our published price guide lists a 10x12 room at $300 to $800 and interior walls only at $2.75 to $6.00 per square foot. Where your room lands in that range depends on its condition, the colour change and how much trim there is. We give you a price after we see the room at the free estimate.

Can you paint an office in Ballantyne?

Yes. Commercial painting for offices and retail spaces is one of our services, and we plan the work to keep disruption to your business low. We walk the space first, then agree with you on the order of rooms. We do not have a published Ballantyne office job to point to, so ask us about our commercial work when we meet.

Do you refinish kitchen cabinets in Ballantyne homes?

Yes. We paint or stain cabinets in kitchens and bathrooms. Cabinet doors are commonly taken off and finished flat so paint does not run at the hinges, while the boxes are prepped in place, and we go over the approach for your kitchen at the estimate. One Google reviewer had their cabinets and kitchen painted by a crew led by Mario and called the team efficient and neat.

What paint brands do you use in Mecklenburg County homes?

We work with Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore. The right product depends on the surface, since walls, doors, cabinets and exterior siding each need a different paint. We go over products and sheens with you at the estimate, and colour consultation is one of our services.

Do you offer financing for painting in Ballantyne?

Financing is available. We do not publish the terms on this site, so ask about them when you call (980) 291-7510 to schedule your estimate.
